(Sorry in advance for the cellphone photo)
I painted an old, brown wood piano (pictured below) in a glossy white (and I faux gilded the pedal with gold Rub-n-Buff). I painted the bench the same as well, it was originally off-white. Next I am going to upholster the seat in white fur (not crazy Bobby Trendy for Anna Nicole Smith fluffy fur, more Jean-Michel Frank subtle-but-luxurious soft fuzz). I am also going to paint the tips of the bench legs in gold. For the keys of the piano, I am hoping to find some very very very small little tiny rectangular slivers of shiny beads, or something, and lay them down. Or print a keyboard onto nice paper and Mod Podge it. Most important detail is going to be what sheet music I’m going to print out in miniature. Whatever I do with this thing, expect it to be something that Elton John would approve of. I’m not trying to go all out Liberace here, but I definitely want it to be FANCY.
