The Painted Lady
I took some time over the last couple of weekends to finally paint this dollhouse. Eventually I will add stencil work to the shutters and trim - anything in avocado gets stencil, not sure if I will decorate the magenta porch rails yet. I’m going to attempt to do some Art Nouveau-ish gingerbread ornament, because Art Nouveau was revived in the 60s, and I don’t mind whiplash curves and stylized vegetal motifs. I would also like to drip flowering leaves down either side of the house. This one is a little bit rough around the edges - I only just cleaned it and did very light repair structurally before I painted - You can say I’m leaving it with a decidedly homespun appearance.
